Northland School.
-
Northland School "broke up" on Thursday with a concert which included physical and fancy drill, recitations, songs, and pianoforte solos.
Mr. A. C Pearce, chairman of the committee, in presenting the prizes, made complimentary reference to those who had worked so energetically to make the entertainment successful. During the past year excellent work had been done in the school. The school possessed an up-to-date miniature rifle range and a school-garden, both of which institutions had amply justified the attention bestowed upon them. Mrs. Pearce distributed the prizes. The following is the prize-list: —
...
arithmetic : 1st Doris Churchouse and Oswald Johns (equal),
...
Special prizes for drill (presented by Mr. Russell) : — Ivy Johns,
...
Attendance (1st class certificates) : — Victoria M. Davis, Gladys M. Finlayson, O. Johns,
