Returned to New Zealand in 1871 abroad the Queen Bee with his brothers William and Francis.

George went to the South Island prospecting and then is reported in the Takaka area and, finally as a Butcher. He never married and died at Collingwood in 1930. (Could not find a death Folio for a George Bennett in 1930, found one in 1940)

Johns, Mary Margaret (Minnie) - On June 28, 1977, at Silverstream Hospital, loved wife of the late Edward, much-loved mother of James, Clarence and the late Mona, loved by her daughters-in-law Hazel and Janet; passed peacefully in her 95th year. RIP. Requiem mass will be celebrated at the Church of St Mary of the Angels, Bolcoutt St, Tomorrow (Thursday), June 30, 1977, at 10am. and thereafter to the Karori Lawn Cemetery.
