     Roy Alfred remembers during the depression he took a job as a Stevedore and worked on the cranes on the wharf. His first job was as a apprentice for David McCray Cabinet Makers and Wire Workers.
He passed away from a heart attack, he was in Wellington Hospital for around two weeks. Leslie was improving and was going to be moved to The Home Compassion in Island Bay, but before he could move he passed away

RIP. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Hill St, Tomorrow (Tuesday), August 31, 1971, at 2.30pm, thereafter interment at Karori Cemetery.
