Dannevirke Evening News Tuesday September 8th 1936 states
Mr S Bott, of the linesman's staff of the Dannevirke Post and Telegraph Office, met with an accident yesterday afternoon while working in the Piri Piri district, falling to the ground from a cross arm of a telegraph pole. Fortunately he fell on to soft ground, escaping serious injury but will nevertheless, be absent from duty for about a week
