On July 22, 1989 peacefully at his home, 107 King Street, Taradale, dearly loved husband of Mima and loved father and father-in-law of Ann and Les Kenah, Liz and Gary Spence, George and Fenella (Auckland) and John and Nicky (Auckland).
Loved poppa of Merrin, Bruce, Trina, Melanie, Tracey, Alex, Matthew and Rory.
A service will be held at Dunstalls Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier tomorrow Tuesday at 2pm followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Salvation Army may be left in the entrance to the chapel or posted to P.O Box 2045, Ahuriri.

Napier identity dies, aged 70
Successful baker and renowned indoor plant specialist Austell Malcolm Venables died last Saturday aged 70.
Born in Napier in 1918, Mr Venables, also known as Tom to his army friends, saw overseas action in Africa and Italy with the transport division.
Mr Venables had a bakery with partner A Reeves in Emerson Street, with one highlight being baking for the Queen's train in 1953.
He then changed his occupation to growing cyclamen and sold flowers and plants all over New Zealand. He was invited by the Department of Agriculture to lecture in soil mixing at Massey University.
Mr Venables then moved north to the Bay of Islands, Keri Keri and Whangarei. He finally moved back to Napier to be near his two daughters, Ann Kenah and Elizabeth Spence.
By the time he reached 65 his health began to fail and he died aged 70 in his Taradale home. He is survived by his wife Mima, daughters Ann and Elizabeth and sons George and John - both in business in Auckland.
