A wedding of considerable interest was that solemnised at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral on Wednesday evening, between Miss Frances Edith Thorpe, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Thorpe, of Goring street, Wellington, and Mr. Guy Campbell Tully, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Tully, of "Woodclyffe," Levin. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming gown of silver brocaded satin, pleated georgette, and silver tissue forming a graceful train. Her tulle veil was worn with a circlet of silver leaves. The bridesmaids were Misses Gladys Thorpe (sister of the bride), Beryl Tully (sister of bridegroom), Dorothy Edmundson, and Queenie Poore (hard to read) (cousins of the bride), who wore frocks of pale pink chiffon taffeta, made in bouffant style, with panels of silver lace, and veils of pale pink tulle with wreaths of silver leaves. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. L. Davidson as best man and Mr Ken Suckling (Christchurch) as groomsman. The Rev. Mr. Jones, of Wadestown, officiated. A reception was afterwards held in the Marine Institute Hall, where Mrs. Thorpe received a large assemblage of guests, and wore a handsome gown of black crepe magare with hat en suite. Mrs. Tully was in navy marocain with navy hat. Among the guests were: Mrs. Wallace Tully, Mrs. J. Thorpe, Mrs. and Miss Gasquoine, Mrs. Hadfield, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hadfield, Mr. and Mrs. Vickers, Miss Hall-Jones, Mr. W. Keay, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Wilson and many others.
