A smile thanks Tyra Andersson certainly can treat you to a smile even though she has almost lived for 100 years. Birgit Hansson, nurse aide, thinks Tyra is very capable.

Tyra has had her 100th Birthday and will have visitors from New Zealand.
Tyra Vilhelmina Andersson will be 100 years on Friday. When she was 84 years old she travelled to New Zealand to visit her nieces and nephews.
Now the nieces and nephews are coming to Lulea to visit Tyra.
The visit is going to be a surprise for her.
Tyra was born in Varnamo and was never married. Ten years ago she moved to Sundsgarden in Lulea. Her hearing is very bad and so is her sight but otherwise one gets the impression of a surprising vitality. In the main she manages on her own.
She is very determined and has a great sense of humour.
- I feel best when I can lie in my bed and have food and drink brought to me and be waited on, she says. The staff here are so kind.
She looks lightly on her upcoming birthday.
- Yes, of course I like coffee, if only I would get some.
- If I watch TV? No, I am almost blind.
Tyra worked as a clerk when she was young. She does remember that. Otherwise she has forgotten her life as a girl.
- I have nothing to tell, she says. I have forgotten everything.
Anna Lledqvist, 80, from Gammelstad has known Tyra Andersson for 20 years and they travelled together to New Zealand 16 years ago.
Once a week Anna has visited Tyra to take care of any needs she might have. It has been a labour of love.
Now she is making preparations for the birthday party.
Tyra is far from ignorant of what is in store. She is counting the days.
- Anna is coming here to help me dress up nicely, she says.
Tyra's brother, Knut Andersson was district manager at Trygg Hansa, he died 12 years ago. Tyra is the only survivor from a family of five children. Now she is going to be 100 years.
- That is nothing to write about she says.

Tyra Andersson from Lulea celebrates her 100th birthday tomorrow.
Miss Tyra Andersson, Lulea is 100 years old the 3rd May.
Tyra Andersson's father was a master brewer? The family moved from Varnamo, Smaland up to Lulea. Tyra went to an all girls school and was incredibly skilled in the English language which she taught to many pupils.
After school she was employed as a governess with a family living south of Sweden. After a few years she moved back to Lulea and took up employment at the office of Engineer Fredriksson. Tyra lived in Lulea together with her brother Knut who was an insurance employee.
In 1975 Tyra Andersson together with a very good friend, travelled to New Zealand to meet her oldest brothers children. It was an incredible experience for Tyra to travel so far. They returned to Lulea after two months.
When Tyra brother Knut passed away she moved to Sundsgarden where she still lives comfortably. She is sprightly and happy and will celebrate the "big" day together with good friends.
