Orange Blossoms
Walsh - Greener
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary's Church, Wanganui, on Feb. 18th, by the Rev. Father Maloney, the contracting parties being Mr James Walsh, of Wellington, and Miss Gertrude Greener, youngest daughter of Mr G. Greener, of Wanganui. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a dainty frock of ivory satin. She also wore a handsome veil and wreath of lilies of the valley, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white roses and asters. The attending bridesmaids were Miss Vera Remington and little Molly Hall, the former being attired in a dainty frock of pale satin charmeuse with a tulle hat to match, and carrying a bouquet of pale pink asters, and the later wearing a pretty little frock of white hailstone muslin and lace, and dainty white crinoline hat. Mr H. A. Dickie carried out the duties of best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a beautiful necklet of olivines and pearls, and to the bridemaids a gold bangle, and gold brooch respectively. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents. Mr and Mrs Walsh left by the mail train for Hawke's Bay. The bride travelled in a smart tailor made costume of navy with invisible stripe, and black velvet hat with crown of saxe pan-satin and smart black feather mount.
