Tilbury - Dyer
A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised at Knox Church, Lower Hutt, recently, when Vera, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Dyer, of Epuni Street, was married to Allan Rumgay, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Tilbury, of Park Avenue. The bride, who was escorted by her father wore a handsome gown of silver-striped matalasse, made on simple lines with long sleeves, and a cowl yoke finished with a sprig of orange blossom. A girdle of silver cord was worn. Her embroidered tulle veil was caught back with a circlet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white cyclamen, carnations, and maidenhair fern.
The bridesmaids were Miss Margaret Dyer (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Margaret Tilbury, sister of the bridegroom. Both wore frocks of apple-green watered velvet, the cowl necks being finished with silver buttons. They wore circlets of silver leaves and carried bouquets of marguerites. Mr. H. Basire was bestman and Mr. H. Tilbury, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. The Rev. Thomas Macky officiated.
The guest were received in the Knox Schoolroom after the ceremony by Mr. and Mrs. Dyer. Mrs. Dyer wore a frock of silver-grey lace over blue satin, and hat of grey felt finished with a blue feather.
Mrs. Tilbury, the bridegroom's mother, wore a frock of wine lace with marocain coat of the same shade and hat to tone. Mrs. A. R. Tilbury travelled in a navy blue tailored suit and navy blue felt hat
