Personal
The many friends of Mr George Harper received a painful shock at the news of his unexpected death on Saturday evening, at his residence "Featherstone," Upokongaro. The late Mr Harper, who was 48 years of age, was a native of Wanganui, and was educated at the Wanganui Collegiate School. After a term of service with the Bank of Australiasia in Palmerston North, and later in the Bank of New Zealand, he took up farming at Mangamahu, where he lived for several years. About ten years ago he purchased the fine "Featherstone" property at Upokongaro, where he has since resided. Mr Harper, whose personality made him very popular, was held in high esteem by all who knew him, and his death will be sincerely regretted. He leaves a widow to whom wide sympathy will be extended, as also to his brothers and sisters - Messrs H. S. G. Harper (Wanganui), T. Harper (Waipukurau), Mesdames Barton (Fielding), and Angliner (Wellington). The funeral will take place at Aramoho Cemetery tomorrow (Friday) morning
