Mrs Len Mackenzie had a pleasant occasion made for her to meet some friends by Mrs. S. J. Gibbons, who gave a charming afternoon tea for her at Island Bay. A curious competition, which taxed the memory more than intellect, was greatly enjoyed. It was to give the name in order of all the shops from Cuba-street to Manners-street. It sounds simple, but those who tried it found it not very easy to recall them all. Amongst the guests were Mrs. Pascoe, Mrs. Jaeger, Mrs. Hamilton Gilmer, Mrs. Patterson, Misses McKenzie, Deamer, Jaeger, Patterson
