Death. — There died in Christchurch a few weeks ago an old Wairuna settler, Mr George Divers. In the early times of the Wairuna settlement Mr Divers, who had purchased a farm there, was engaged in carting to the Lakes and could relate some thrilling adventures of his journeys. He also sawed a lot of timber in the Wairuna bush along with Mr John Moffat. Besides his section in Wairuna Mr Divers owned a farm at Arthurton, which he sold some years ago and bought part of the Wairuna Downs estate, which his son Charles has been farming. Mr Divers succumbed to cancer of the liver, and he leaves a widow, two sons, and a daughter.
