Nominations in connection with the election of Wardens for the Kilbirnie Road District Board took place to-day at Burke's Woolshed, Kilbirnie, Mr. J. D. Iremonger acting as the returning officer. In three of the five subdivisions only one candidate was proposed in each case, and the candidates be proposed were declared duly elected. They are as follow:— Subdivision No. 1 — Mr. Simon M'Lennan, proposed by Mr. W. H. Levin, seconded by Mr. C. Plimmer; subdivision No. 2 — Mr. Alfred Falkner, proposed by Mr. G. Smith, seconded by Mr. W. T. Claridge; subdivision No. 3 Mr. Charles William Cutten, proposed by Mr. W. Kember, seconded by Mr. W. B. Edwards. For sub-division No. 4, the nominations were — Mr. Stephen Agate, proposed by Mr. S. S. Downes, seconded by Mr. P. Briggs, and Mr. Joseph Lowry, proposed by Mr. J. Compton, seconded by Mr. A. Luff; and for sub-division No. 5, the candidates were — Mr. John Collins, proposed by Mr. E. Tait, seconded by Mr. W. Osborne; and Mr. Charles Hendrey, proposed by Mr. J. L. Kimbell, seconded by Mrs. Sarah Ann Haines. An advertisement notifying the date of election for subdivisions Nos. 4 and 5 appears elsewhere.
